Ash Wednesday Worship
Ashes have long been a sign of repentance and our own mortality. They remind us of our need for God to create, bring to an end, and re-create us by His power, not our own. This message has perhaps never been more poignant than now as we begin this new season of Lent, reflecting on a year consumed by pandemic, and looking ahead to the Easter promise of resurrection of new life.
We are providing ashes for use in the home through our Lent-in-a-box resources. You can use these on your own in conjunction with the printed service provided in the same resource. Or you can use them at home while following along with the video service that will be available on this page and on our Advent Solon YouTube Channel on Ash Wednesday.
You may also choose to attend a service in person at Advent that day. Thirty-minute service times are available from 7 am through 6 pm, allowing for one or two households to participate at a time throughout the day. Click here to register.
