From the early beginnings of the church, part of its mission has been to assist those in need. The apostle Paul talks about the effort of the church in Corinth as well as those in Macedonia to send assistance to those in need in the Jerusalem church. 2 Corinthians 8:15 sums up the plan, "The one who has much does not have too much and the one who has little does not have too little." We support one another so that all have enough.
Advent's Corinthian Fund works with this mindset. By contributing above and beyond our commitment to the congregation's day-to-day ministry when we have been blessed with much, we can support those who have little so that it is not too little. Whichever side of the equation you are on today, we need each other.
If you have much today, give generously remembering you have been blessed to be a blessing. And if you are trying to get by with too little, know that you are not alone, God has connected you with a community that wants to help.
